Supplies: velvet table runner, table cloth, candelabra, dried flowers, camera/phone
Creating professional photos isn't as scary as you think! With vision, angles and some lighting, any shoot can have that special feel. I tried three simple setups that required minimal supplies to create my own professional shoot for wedding bands. I think the results turned out great and I am excited to share!
The first shot I relied on the velvet table runner as my background. Velvet gives great
texture, is very smooth and romantic. I will note, it is also always good to lint roll over all the fabric you use. These pictures were also taken at night which did help to deepen the maroon color. I found it to look best when you swirl the fabric and then loosen it up a little
The second shot allowed me to dig into my craft supply closet and search for my dried roses! So happy to have found them too because it was not easy in there. Any type of dried flowers would have worked too. Weather they are from the grocery stores, Michaels or even floral tea in your pantry, any organic life that fits the theme of the shoot would work! Here I layed our table cloth and drizzled the dried roses. I found that the more the better! It really gives out that over the top feel. I also played around with angles to try and highlight the sides of the rings.
The third shot truly brought out the creative in me! All of a sudden I saw two things, the candelabra and the velvet runner. Then it clicked to use the velvet runner as also a background for a close up with the rings displayed on it. I loved the idea! At first I put both rings on the candle as if it were being worn. Then I lit the candles to bring in more of a warmer light. After a few shots I realized something was off and then played more with the positionings of the rings. The end result was truly perfect! Sometimes you just know when it doesn't feel right and you have to just make those small adjustments to make it true for yourself.
The camera I did use was Canon R6 camera that helped to produced these quality photos. But this can be done with any camera, all it takes is angles and lighting. These photos could also be used for invitations which cut costs even more!
In all, I had a great time creating these photos and using what has on my dining room table to make them! I think sometimes when it comes to photography, we think we might need all these professional things and equipment to create the perfect photos. While in reality, we can use our imagination and find things to make illusions! I will say that's the more fun part!
